Cape Cod Maritime Days
SeaCotuit: "Down by the C-Side"
Sunday, May 25, 2008
Locations: Throughout the village of Couit from 10am-5pm
A village-wide maritime festival paying tribute to the glories of Cotuit's martime and nautical past. Events at Cahoon Museum of American Art and Cotuit Center for the Arts, trolley tours and more!
Cost:  Some events free; some fee-based.

At Cotuit Center for the Arts, SeaCotuit will come alive with several fascinating programs.

Staged readings of Poems from the Sea from the whaler "Splendid" (circa 1849) and excerpts from the whaler's Captain's log will undoubtedly be a crowd pleaser -- along with a presentation by Pulitzer Prize nominee, Emmy Award Winner, author and Cotuit resident, Martin W. Sandler discussing naval history in the 19th century from his book "Resolute - The Epic Search for the Northwest Passage."

In addition, artifacts will be on display f rom The Cape Cod Coast Guard Museum along with prints by maritime historical artist William G. Muller - many of the prints for sale in the Center's gallery.   Art workshops for children will be scheduled at the CCftA during the festival for young, wannabe adventurers.
